Greater Los Angeles has a Great Cookie Program

Carol Dedrich, the chief external relations officer at Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, stopped by KCAL9 Tuesday to talk about the history of girl scout cookies, the gift of caring and many other great Girl Scout initiatives in her community.

An icon of American culture, the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program evolved from a local event in Oklahoma in 1917. It is now the leading business and entrepreneurial program run by girls. This year, girls are thrilled to launch their very own cookie enterprises that help them reach their goals. Whether girls plan to use their proceeds to go camping, serve underprivileged children or adventure to Europe, the Cookie Program teaches them they have the power and resources to achieve.

How has the Girl Scout Cookie Program helped you achieve things in life?
