It’s our favorite week of the year: Girl Scout Week! From Sunday, March 7, through Saturday, March 13, Girl Scouts, alums, and volunteers shout our Girl Scout pride from the rooftops and find ways to connect with one another and give back.
Though our Girl Scout Week festivities may look different this year, we can still celebrate with our Girl Scout sisters around the country and the world, even if we can’t meet in person. Girl Scouts have shown major perseverance in the face of pandemic-related challenges—and that’s even more reason to get loud and proud this year!
Here are four ways your troop can celebrate Girl Scout Week:
1. Show your Girl Scout pride virtually. Rock your Girl Scout green throughout the week or turn up the Girl Scout spirit on March 12, Girl Scouts’ 109th birthday—either way, you can still share the Girl Scout love and show the world that Girl Scouts are ready for anything! Looking for something extra special to bring to school or to your next virtual meeting? Check out the Girl Scout Shop to find a new favorite.
2. Celebrate your faith. Exploring the connections between your faith and the Girl Scout Law is a longstanding tradition during Girl Scout Week. This year, we have celebratory events planned on three dates (or celebrate on your own any time you like).
• Girl Scout Sunday: Sunday, March 7
• Girl Scout Jummah: Friday, March 12
• Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat: Friday, March 12–Saturday, March 13
And because festivities are more fun with friends, join your Girl Scout sisters for the Girls of Faith, Celebrating Together virtual event series, where you can learn more about other faiths, connect with your own, and take steps to earn your My Promise, My Faith pin!
3. Give back to your community. Giving back is part of who we are, and though the pandemic may have put new challenges on our path, it hasn’t stopped Girl Scouts from making the world a better place! Troops can still explore community needs virtually and find ways to take action or find a national service project they’ll be proud to take part in alongside their Girl Scout sisters around the country.
4. Learn about resilient women throughout history. Make a meaningful connection between your Women’s History Month celebrations and your Girl Scout Week activities! From the trailblazing vision of our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, to the countless Girl Scouts and Girl Scout alums who made or are making strides for women every day, it’s a great time to get inspired and discover just how much of a difference you can make by speaking up and showing up. We’ll be spotlighting a few trailblazing women every week for our Women’s History Wednesdays series!
