The Everyday Heroes Who Make Girl Scouting Possible? Girl Scout Volunteers!

National Volunteer Month is here, and we’re celebrating all month long! Why? Because our dedicated, passionate volunteers bring the power of Girl Scouting to girls around the globe, and we couldn’t do it without them!

To be a Girl Scout volunteer is to be a change-maker. Through supportive pep talks that inspire girls to dream bigger, showcasing what it means to live by the Girl Scout Law, or through simply turning frowns into smiles, volunteers’ mentorship and support help girls grow into women who advocate for positive change in the world. That’s why Girl Scout volunteers are our heroes.

And we’re not the only ones in awe of their super powers. Girls say it better than we ever could, so we asked Girl Scouts and Girl Scout alums just how much of an impact volunteers have made on their lives.

So if you’re a Girl Scout or a family member of a Girl Scout, give a big THANK YOU to your favorite volunteer this month! Send them a thoughtful ecard, shout them out on social media (tagging @girlscouts and using #NVM2019 so we can follow the love), or tell them in person just how much they mean to you.

We love our volunteers!
