Girl Scout Family STEM Nights are Guaranteed Fun for the Whole Fam!

Thanks to our new partnership with the Infosys Foundation USA we will launch a new pilot program focused on Girl Scout Family STEM Nights across selected councils. Girl Scouts has a long history of engaging girls in STEM activities and encouraging them to pursue STEM interests both in and outside of the classroom. In 1913, the first Girl Scout badges in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields – the electrician badge and the flyer badge – were introduced. Check them out below—fresh from our Girl Scout archive:

Today, Girl Scouts continues to encourage girls’ exploration and pursuit of education and careers in STEM to increase their awareness of opportunities in these fields.

But what exactly are Family STEM Nights and how will YOU and YOUR GIRL benefit?
  • Girl Scout Family STEM Nights will guide girls and their families through hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and math. Best part? These activities are going to feel like play, so she’ll be having fun and learning at the same time!
  • Girl Scout Family STEM Nights activities will be inspired by Girl Scout programming and rooted in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—fun for the whole family and a great learning experience for the future STEMinistas!
  • Girl Scout Family STEM Nights will foster interactions between parents and girls, as they enjoy fun, educational experiences together— that’s so much more exciting than just doing homework together.
  • Girls and families will gain a sense of community, outside of their regularly scheduled troop and school activities. This will provide a great opportunity to connect, network and make new friends.

Girl Scout Family STEM Nights are going to be awesome experiences for the whole family that your girl is going to love! It will be an opportunity to expose her to new concepts and ideas that can spark a new interest and ultimately lead to a rewarding career in STEM! Stay tuned for more announcements, especially if you’re located in one of the pilot councils (Alaska, Central Illinois or North Caroline Coastal Pines). See you at the Girl Scout Family STEM Night!
