Hear from the 2016 National Young Women of Distinction!

Every year, ten exceptionally inspiring Girl Scout Gold Award recipients are chosen as National Young Women of Distinction (NYWOD).

This honor is given to Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors whose Gold Award projects demonstrated extraordinary leadership, had a measurable and sustainable impact, and addressed a local challenge related to a national and/or global issue. These young women are taking matters into their own hands, becoming, in the process, the change agents the world needs!

This past weekend, Girl Scouts from all over the country met in Philadelphia to honor the 2016 National Young Women of Distinction.

Hear from these inspiring young women as they accept their awards:

Aside from the ceremony, the girls had a chance to soak up some history and have some fun in the City of Brotherly Love (and, in this case, we might add “Sisterly”).

Of course, no trip to Philadelphia would be complete without a motivating jog up the "Rocky Steps" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Learn more about each of these incredible young women and their powerful stories.
