Happy Holidays From Anna Maria Chávez
It’s that special time of year again – there are trees to trim, stockings to stuff, and last minute shopping to get done. The holidays are a time to gather with friends and family to celebrate the season and ring in a new year.
At Girl Scouts, we have so much to be thankful for. We celebrated many milestones in 2013, and there is so much to come in the year ahead! There will be exciting new programs and leadership opportunities; a new crop Girl Scout Gold, Silver and Bronze Award recipients; and a whole new generation of Daisy’s just beginning their Girl Scout journey.
The work of our Movement is never finished, because each year girls face new challenges and new opportunities. During the holidays, we celebrate everything Girl Scouts have achieved, and all of the excitement to come in the year ahead.
So from a cold and snowy New York City, I want to wish Girl Scouts around the world a very happy, healthy, and safe holiday season, and best wishes for a terrific 2014!
