Badgerland's One Tough Cookie 5K a Huge Success!

What do you get when you combine mud, obstacles, trail runs and hundreds of women? One Tough Cookie! That’s the 5K adventure challenge sponsored by Girl Scouts of Wisconsin - Badgerland Council. The first ever One Tough Cookie fundraiser was held Saturday, September 15 at Oakwood Knoll Girl Scout Camp and just shy of one thousand women participated!

The event was the brainchild of a Badgerland Council volunteer who also happens to be a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She designed a course for women of all athletic abilities and fitness levels to enjoy and conquer. The Wisconsin Army National Guard partnered with the Council providing obstacle assistance as well as financial support. When Tough Cookies crossed the finish line each was awarded her own One Tough Cookie official dog tags issued by the Wisconsin Guard. The event earned rave reviews and One Tough Cookie 2013 is already scheduled and open for registration.
