The Oklahoman reports that Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma has announced Shannon Evers as its new chief executive officer.
Evers, a California native, will assume her duties Sept. 4. She previously served as chief development officer for Girl Scouts-Western Washington. She has also worked as development director of the YMCA in Oregon.
She is a graduate of the University of Oregon and was a past winner of the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can receive.
“The CEO search committee has done an excellent job of working diligently to find us a new CEO and I’m grateful for their work,” Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma Board President Linda Whittington said.
Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma serves 39 counties including the Oklahoma City metro area. Evers is married and has two young children.
