Girl Scouting is Leadership

In an OpEd for South Dakota's Aberdeen News, Laura Ann Mount, Membership Specialist for Girl Scouts — Dakota Horizons, Aberdeen, asks, "What comes to mind when you hear Girl Scouts?"

She pinpoints that the most popular answer is typically Girl Scout Cookies. Ann Mount quickly shifts the focus to leadership.

"Girl Scouts is still the only organization solely dedicated to girls and developing them into our future leaders," she says. "Girl Scouts teaches girls leadership skills through the many activities they can participate in, only one of which is the Girl Scout Cookie Sale. We work to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place."
