South Carolina Girl Scouts Serve Lunch and Good Times

In South Carolina, The Times and Democrat reports that Norway Girl Scout Troop 407 was host to a free soup and corn bread luncheon for area senior citizens, families and citizens recently.

Food was donated and prepared by the troop, their parents and other volunteers, and the event and door prizes were sponsored by Three Crosses Ministries, Daniel's Pharmacy and special donors. Despite rainy weather, several dozen people enjoyed the get-together. The Girl Scouts issued tickets to all who attended, and Girl Scout volunteer Jackie Tyler drew for the door prizes. Those attending also enjoyed games of bingo and Lucky Bowl.

Ten blankets were given to the elderly; 25 bags containing knit hats, gloves and socks were presented to children; and 35 travel mugs were awarded to game winners.
