In New York, Girl Scouts Make Friends at a Sleepover

Over four hundred Girl Scouts attended the annual Veni Vedi Vici sleepover at Perry Junior High School over the weekend in New Hartford, NY.

The Utica Observer-Dispatch reports that in its ninth year, Kim Dunne, media manager for Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, said this year's theme draws attention to the organization's 100th anniversary.

“It's birthday themed,” Dunne said, adding that on March 12, 2012, the organization will turn 100.

To give the kindergarten through 12th-grade girls a historical background on Girl Scouting, each age group will had the opportunity to see information panels and participate in activities devoted to teaching them tidbits about the organization.

Sleepovers and camping are cherished traditions in Girl Scouting!
