Happy 4th of July Weekend!

Ohio's Lancaster Gazette reports that local Girl Scout Troop 1317 has been working on a float for the upcoming July Fourth parade.

With some help from local businesses, the troop of five has transformed a trailer, which the Antique Tractor Club donated, into a brightly colored tribute to the Girl Scouts and its 100th anniversary.

In the United States, The Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of The Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 - declaring independence from Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States.

Have a great weekend with friends and family - Happy 4th of July!
