Girl Scout Week: Focus on Young Women of Distinction

Since Girl Scout Week is here, it's only fitting to celebrate the Girl Scouts who achieved Girl Scouting’s greatest honor - our Young Women of Distinction. Head over to My Central Jersey and read about Sixteen year old Shannon McNamara, who has been named one of the Girl Scouts' 2009 National Young Women of Distinction for her efforts to empower African girls through education. The Young Women of Distinction honor was earned by ten Girl Scouts this year.

Not only have our Young Women of Distinction earned a very prestigious award and made the world a better place through exceptional Girl Scout Gold Award Projects - they have also been recognized by the Ford Motor Company Fund, which donated a $2000 scholarship to each of our Young Women of Distinction. Cheers to Ford and congrats to all the girls who won!
