Weekend Run-Down

Happy New Year and welcome to the first Weekend Run-Down of the new decade. There is a lot to cover.
  • According to The Chicago Daily Herald, Girl Scouts launch annual cookie sale with record-setting event
  • In Arizona, "Cookies On Demand" is being rolled out as a new way to get cookies to customers in a much faster manner.
  • The San Diego Union Tribune has a fantastic story about local Girl Scouts raising awareness and funds for world hunger.
  • In Massachusetts, Girl Scout Mother Sandra Libby has been awarded Billerica Minuteman Citizen of the Year.
  • In Ohio, Columbus Local News is reporting on Big Walnut Girl Scouts Troop 1569's teaming up with the Sunbury Kroger store, as well as Genoa Baptist Church's Troop Ministry, to initiate the Scouts4Soldiers program. It will generate donations for soldiers.
  • Also in Ohio, The Chillicothe Gazette has a story about a flourishing head scarf project that helps cancer patients.
  • In Arizona, Girl Scouts are recycling Christmas Trees. Check that out in the Sonoma News.
